T1W7: Activities Outside School

Hi Everyone,

Many pupils are involved in lessons outside school. They include tuition, music, art, ballet, swimming, Sinda classes, religious lessons and so on. There are just too many activities for me to list them.

For this week's journal writing, I would like you to reflect on your involvement in all the activities outside school. To help you with your writing, I have listed some questions below:

1. What are the activities you are involved in outside school from Monday to Sunday?

2. How many days do you spend on these activities?

3. How many hours do you spend in each of these activities?

4. Why are you involved in these activities?

5. Do you think these activities are necessary for you? If 'Yes', how have these activities help you? If 'No', why are you taking part in these activities?

6. Do you think these activities affect your school work/studies? If so, how?

7. Do you feel stressed with all these activities? Explain.

8. In your opinion, do you think pupils should be involved in outside school activities? Why?

    I have tuition

    about 3h

    1h 30min

    Because i am not good science and maths

    Yes it help me at exam

    yes it help me to understand better

    yes. It just take a short time but many homework

    1. During Weekdays and Weekends , I usually have Tuitions at a Learning Centre called 'The Learning Continuum' It's rather fun because when it's like for example , (*e.g Children's Day) they will give us presents like stationaries . This Chinese New Year , they gave us $2 of HongBao ! Woah , thats even greater!!!

    2.I spent only about 2days . During Saturdays and Wednesdays.

    3. I spent all about each tuition 1hour and 30minutes.

    4.I was invovled in this activites because I'm not very good in Science and espically Mathematics .

    5.Yes , Of Course! They really help me improve my Mathematics and my Science .

    6.Yes . It help me in my Examinations .

    7. Not Really . Because it really help up in my subjects and I really need to focus on it .
    8.Yes. So that they can learn more that the school dosen't teach us and so that they can help them understand more things better .

    1)I have tuition classes on Saturdays and Sundays.
    2)I spent only 2 days, during Saturdays ans Sundays.
    3)I spent about 2 hours for every tuition classes.
    4)It is because I am not good in Science and English.
    5)Of course yes, because it helps me to improve my subjects that I am not good in.
    6)No because it can help me know my subject better and thus understand what the teacher is talking about.
    7)I feel a little stressed because there is extra homework to complete.
    8)Yes because it can improve their knowledge of the subject.

    Amelia here. ^^

    I have tuition for all four subjects from Monday to Sundays.

    I spent 3 days for my tuition. Tuesday(Chinese), Friday(Math) and Saturday(English and Science). Sometimes I will also have extra lessons on Sunday.

    On Tuesday and Friday, I will spend 1 and a half hour and on Saturday, I will spend 2 hours.

    I think I am involved in my tuition classes because my parents wants me to score better marks for my exams and learn more things through tuition classes.

    I think these activities are necessary for me as my tuition classes can help me improve my subjects and pull me forward and score higher marks.

    I think these activities will affect my school studies as it help me to improve my subjects.

    I think I will be stressed sometimes as there will be more homework.

    I think pupils should be involved in outside school activities as it will help us to relax more if it is some fun activities. Sometimes it is also good if pupils have tuition as it can help them to know more information about the subject that they are learning.

    I'm Jun Hui Here posting my comment again!

    These are my answers:

    I am involved in tutions and swimming lesson.

    I spent three days on these activities.

    My tutions are 2 hour and the Swimming lesson is 1 hour.

    Tution: I am bad in my studies.
    Swimming lesson: I want to exercise and learn to swim.

    The tutions and the the swimming lessons are necessary for me. It helps me to improve my studies more (Tution) and helps me to keep me fit (swimming).

    6. No. It did not affect my work at all.

    7. I don't feel stressed with all these activities. The tutions are just like my school's work and for the swimming lesson is just like in school, I am having PE.

    8. Yes. It helps them to improve.

    I am involved in Abacus and Creative Writing tuition.Abacus is on Thursday while Creative Writing is on Saturday.I am involved in Abacus since Primary 1 that is why my maths is so good.I am also bad in creative writing.I spend about 4 and a half hours on this.It is very necessary.I don't feel stress at all as I only got 2 tuition.

    Hi ! sorry for the delete.

    Hi I am Hanna.

    I have tuition lessons. They are on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.I am free for the rest of the week.

    On Friday, I have maths tuition.It last for one and a half hour.

    On Saturday, I have English and Science tution.It last for one and a half hour.

    On Sunday, I have extra lessons for English and Scinece because of coming exams.It last for one and a half hour.

    I have these tuition with our classmate, Amelia. I think that these tuitions help me on difficult problems which I dont understand and practice more on that subject.

    It is necessary because it helps me improve on my work.It dose not effect my studies because it helps me not make me lose focus.
    I feel a little stress because I have both school and tuition homework. But I think that although their are homework, all that I have done will pay off with my results.I think that they should be involved in these outdoor activies as long as they stay away from bad company.

    4.It is because i do not know how to swim.
    5.If I know how to swim i do not need to learn it anymore.

    1.I have Maths,Science and English Lessons on Wednesday,Friday and Saturday.
    2.I take 3 days.
    3.Each of them spend 1hour 30minutes.
    4.I need to learn more about Maths,Science and English.
    5.Yes,my marks improved and I learnt many things.
    6.No,if outside activities got a lot of homework, I could do it slowly because I got whole week to do.
    7..No,they are teaching me manythings.
    8.Yes, I can do more activities than school and it helps me to understand school works.

    1)Weekdays I do not have tuition but weekends I have English and Chinese tuition.

    2)I spent 1 day only

    3) I spent 1hr 30mins on each of these activities

    4)Because I am weak

    5)Yes. I improved a bit

    6)No. Because ALL my tuitions are on weekends so it will not afect my stidies

    7)No. It is interesting and so I will not feel stressed with all these activities

    8)So that they can learn more and their exams can get more marks

    I have maths tuition on friday and science tuition on saturday , and maybe my mother say she will sign me up for home piano lessons on saturday at 7pm .

    I spent about two days , because my piano and my science tuition fall on the same day .

    For maths and science tuition i spend 2hrs each and my mother says that my piano lessons are at abt 45mins ?

    I am involved in tuition because i want to learn more or maybe sometimes during tuition they teach faster then school . Then i get to learn before i learn the unit in school . For piano lessons , i want to learn how to play songs on my piano that my parents bought for me and my sister days ago .

    Yes , i am trying to impove everyday in school and tuition .

    It do not affect my studies .

    No , its quite fun acutually even if its tuition and all . I will acutually feel relaxed .

    They should . It helps them to improve their studies and learn more stuff .

    1)I have tution for science,maths and chinese on weekdays only and tennis lesson on weekend.
    2)I spent 4 days.
    3And it is about 7 hours.
    4)I have them becuase i need to have learn some sports and some will help me in my studies and i will learn new things.
    5)Yes.They will help me to get a job next time easier.And i will also play sports better.
    6)No.It is because some of them are tutions that will help me in studies.
    7)No.I never get stress as i also have fun and i also have time to play too.
    8)It is important as it helps pupils to learn new things
